Why use an External Antenna?
The Ruckus Wireless WiFi Booster is designed to
pick up weak public WiFi connections and enhance
them to re-transmit on another channel on a higher
level. While an external antenna is not required for
the system, an external antenna port is available on
the back of the unit. An external antenna is a great
addition in areas where the construction of the
home or building is preventing the signal from
reaching within the building. An antenna placed
outside the building will then pick up the public WiFi
service and transmit it to the MetroFlex unit allowing
it to retransmit.
